Important Information to New Member Applicants
 
A ‘non refundable’ Application Fee of $100 is payable with the application. The application will not be processed without receipt by SIWA Limited of that fee (this fee is not payable for students).

1. The application fee will be discounted from the annual subscription fee payable by an accepted and confirmed member.

2. Special request made for other discounts will be considered by the Board.

Level 5 Para - Professional SAFETY SUPERVISOR Assoc. Dip 5 years experience Competent administrator, specialist, technician or paraprofessional. $300
Level 6 Professional PROJECT  / DEPARTMENT SAFETY MANAGER Degree 7 years experience Competent senior administrator or specialist manager. $350
Level 7 Professional Company Safety Manager Honours Degree 10 years experience Competent professional or senior manager. $400
Level 8 Professional Area / Regional Corporate Safety Manager Master Degree 15 years experience Competent senior professional or executive level manager $450

The SIWA Limited “Generic; Safety Employment, Skills & SIWA Membership Career Pathway” provides a more detailed criteria for the grading and maintenance of membership within each category.

Application for Membership will not guarantee acceptance as a member – SIWA Limited intends to maintain the strictest compliance to the integrity and ethical compliance by its members to provide quantitative strength generally, to our members’ ongoing professional recognition

Ethics in Summary – each member shall;
◦respect every other members right to a point of view
◦refrain from abuse or insult or defamatory implication of another member or SIWA Limited
◦shall in relation to their OSH employment and all SIWA Limited matters, functions or related events, act in a manner normally expected of a practicing or professional person
◦comply with the intent of Safety & Health related law
◦comply with the SIWA Limited constitution and regulations

The Constitution Binds Each and Every Member as if they had individually signed the constitution as a personal contract. An accepted member will have up to 30 days following acceptance as a member in which to review the constitution and confirm their intent to be bound by it. A person will not be included on the register of members until a signed consent to be bound by the constitution along with the annual subscription fee is received from the member. On the winding up of the company each member consents to pay no more than $10.00 to cover any company debt at the time of winding up. (corporations law requirement)

Evidence for Membership Grade
SIWA Limited may consider evidence of accreditation or grading of an applicant, undertaken by another organisation, as evidence of meeting any equivalent criteria required for a grading within a SIWA Limited membership category. The category and grade given to an applicant reflects the quality or completeness of evidence provided for assessment. A successful applicant will be given an indication of what evidence is required to progress to the next grade.

Refusal of Application
Where an application for membership of SIWA Limited is rejected, SIWA Limited will not be under any obligation to provide a reason for that rejection.

Evidence to be attached to the application;

  • Accreditation or membership grading (and its criteria) of another organisation
  • Copy of any certificates of qualification
  • Employment CV
  • Any other supporting evidence

Corporate Memberships

As a SIWA Limited corporate member, your staff and organisation will have access to exclusive benefits such as:

  • An unlimited number of persons of or attached to the corporate member may attend SIWA events at SIWA members’ rates.
  • 1/8 page advertisement in each edition of Australian Safety Matters Magazine for duration of corporate membership.
  • The corporate members’ logo may be placed on SIWA event brochures.
  • The member will be invited to attend any ‘standard’ or statute review forum.
